THEY SAID "I DO"
Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Ian McGonagill
When Melissa Hackett, HBV Social Worker in Brenham, began praying to meet someone her mom began plotting. Ian's dad worked with Melissa's mom at Faith Academy and they decided Ian and Melissa needed to meet. One day Ian showed up at the Brenham office because his dad said Melissa was expecting him. The trouble was, Melissa wasn't even aware that Ian was popping by so she was not there! Melissa thought Ian was a stalker, then learned her mom and Ian's dad were trying to set them up!
"Then he added me on Facebook and I knew who he was at that point because I'd talked about it with my mom, but I hated the idea of taking the bait from my mother so I left the request sitting there for a month.," Melissa said.
She eventually gave in, added him on Facebook and the two decided to go out for coffee.
They have been inseparable ever since and married on June 26, 2021. All because their parents set them up!
Congratulations Melissa Hackett McGonagill
Answering to Our Relationships
Serving the community in and around the HBV service area is central to our mission. It creates accountability and trust beyond just HBV's patients. Over the last few weeks HBV was present to accept a generous donation from the Bluebonnet Opry, participated in SilverSage's drive through parade for residents, hosted summer games at the Langford complete with leis and a beach backdrop, and led a fun seashell craft at The Bob and Wanda Meyer Senior and Community Center.
AWARD-WINNING COMFORT CARE
All because YOU CARE
HBV is honored again to be the winner of the Hospice Honors Award
The Hospice Honors is a landmark compilation of hospices providing the best patient and caregiver experience.
This prestigious annual review recognizes hospices that continuously provide the highest level of quality as
measured from the caregiver’s point of view. These honors can only be attributed to the excellent service each of you provide daily and the commitment displayed by the HBV team to our core values. Thank you!
of feelings, rights, & traditions of others
HBV respects the feelings, rights and traditions of others by offering resources at no cost. The month of August is
National Make a Will Month.
HBV has some wonderful tools that help patients discuss their options, decide how they want their assets to be distributed, and explain how to document their wishes. We have many of these branded booklets about Advanced Care Planning on hand, as well as other resources shown here. The graphic displays the current available booklet options on hand at HBV. If you would like specific title sent to you in the internal mail, please email us at .
