Hospice chaplains seek to provide spiritual, emotional, and relational support to our patients & families to enhance their quality of life.  Chaplains are a unique member of the hospice team that meets you where you are, to support you in the ways that you desire most.  If you are a member of a church or religious family, chaplains can offer an additional layer of support.  While your pastor/spiritual leader is like your primary care physician, hospice chaplains are like specialists, trained to walk through you through this unique journey.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires that a hospice must make bereavement services available to a patient's family for up to one year following the death of a patient.  However, Hospice Brazos Valley goes above & beyond this minimum requirement offering bereavement services for 18 months following the death of a patient.  This support is provided through regular correspondence by mail, phone calls, one-on-one counseling, and a variety of grief support groups and classes. In addition, our grief support offerings are open to the public and are no cost to attend.  Hospice Brazos Valley routinely provides grief support services to workplaces, schools, churches, or civic groups.  Simply contact the office nearest you to schedule.
