Who pays for Hospice careIf you have Medicare or Medicaid, then you will have full hospice coverage with no co-pay or deductible payment due from you. The payments from Medicare and Medicaid do not cover the full cost of care. The additional financial resources needed to provide your care will be provided by contributions from the community. If you are covered by a private insurance policy then hospice will work with that insurance company to secure the financial resources to pay for your care. Hospice has no control over the level of coverage these policies provide. In some very rare cases hospice may be forced by the insurance company to collect a co-payment from you for hospice care. Hospice Brazos Valley will not deny access to care or limit the care you receive due to your ability to pay for hospice services. Hospice Brazos Valley will not engage in any collection procedures or place undue financial hardships upon you during this very difficult time. Resources are limited and therefore all expense generating activities must be approved by hospice. Hospice Brazos Valley provides care to all people who qualify for service without regard to race, age, faith, diagnosis or ability to pay for services. If you have questions about this information you may call the hospice office and request clarification. |
