Hospice Brazos Valley presents Savor the Flavor of Texas Cooking Contest - a celebration of the blending of the cultural heritage of Fayette and Lee Counties.
Savor the Flavor of Texas, where food and families come together is an opportunity for amateur chefs to enter their favorite family recipes in one or more of the following categories: German, Czech, Tex-Mex, Soul Food or Maverick - an anything goes category. There will be a variety of entry items such as, but not limited to appetizers, salads, side dishes, main course, and dessert/pastry. Each participant will provide approximately 250 bite sized samples for the public to enjoy and judge. The Grand Prize Winner and Category Winners will be announced and recognized that same day.
Hospice Brazos Valley, Inc is a non-profit, community-owned agency committed to caring for individuals touched by life-limiting illness, grief, and loss. The purpose of hospice is to provide support and care for people so they can live life to its fullest. Seeing a need in the Lee, Fayette and surrounding counties, HBV opened the La Grange Branch, in September 2007.
Savor the Flavor provides a positive platform for HBV to help raise awareness of the hospice mission as well as raising money to fund programs such as, bereavement, nursing education, spiritual guidance, and volunteer training. These services are vital to HBV ability to provide the community with the compassionate care, expert experience, and superior service they deserve.
